LIVING ROOM IN LONDON

A pioneering fusion of the first bass clarinet & hang duo in the world ‘Living Room’ and a string trio with musicians from the Solstice Quartet and the London Symphony Orchestra.

Living Room in London is a mixed ensemble made up of five instrumentalist-composers. ‘Master hang drummer’ Manu Delago and‘Jazz newcomer of the year’ award winning clarinetist/saxophonist Christoph Pepe Auer join London-based string players Ellie Fagg, Tom Norris and Gregor Riddell to create a unique sound that spans a wide range of musical influences. As well as composing within the ensemble they have also commissioned works from numerous composers. They have performed at venues including LSO St Luke’s, Klangspuren Schwaz Festival, featured at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with critical acclaim and toured the UK and Europe. In September 2011 the ensemble has recorded their debut album with Sessionwork Records supported by the Musicians Benevolent Fund. In 2011/12 their work included commissioning an improvisation based work by Peter Wiegold and an electronic work by Milton Mermikides, debuts at Kings Place, the ICA, Vortex and a European tour to promote their album.
